Brad Horton
I’ve been blessed to be a part of several Small Groups at East White Oak.
Throughout that time God has given me great encouragement through sharing life together with other believers. Prior to my current Small Group I had the opportunity to attend the Sportsmen Small Group where we dove head first into the book of James. I was so encouraged by being surrounded by men who were willing to be vulnerable with one another. God reminded me through His Word and the men in that study that we must continually submit ourselves to the Lord in humility.
Most recently, Julie and I have had the privilege of being involved in a Small Group led by Jonathan and Kelli Goodyear. It has been equally encouraging to be involved in a study with like-minded believers who want to honor the Lord. One of the things I love most about our current Small Group is how it provides an element of fun, joy, and hilarity in the pressures that everyday life can dish out.
We truly enjoy being with each other and it is always a joy to laugh and share life together while studying the Word. We recently finished a study on Genesis in conjunction with Pastor Scott’s sermon series and it was exciting to see how what we were learning and applying in our Small Group related to Sunday morning messages from the pulpit. I am looking forward to seeing how God is going to use our small group this fall to impact his kingdom.
Brad Horton and his wife, Julie, attend East White Oak with their two teen daughters, Ashleigh and Lexi. Brad served over 17 years in the video ministry at East White Oak and pioneered our Livestream worship service. You’ll see him now at the Welcome Center on Sundays. He works in insurance compliance at COUNTRY Financial and enjoys running, biking, and disc golf.
