Our annual church picnic is a great opportunity to experience East White Oak for the first time. Join us by the lake and bring your friends and family!
Join us for an outdoor worship service. Plenty of chairs will be available under our huge tent!
We will conclude the service with testimonies and baptisms—always a highlight of the picnic!
Boxed lunches from Jason’s Deli include sandwich, chips, pickle, cookie, and water. Vegetarian and Gluten Free lunches are available by request. Suggested $7 donation per lunch.

Attention young adults and teens! Check out our 300-foot zip line! This activity will be available for those ages 13+ from 12:30-2:00 PM. Younger children may zipline after 2:00 PM.

Canoes, Rowboats, Paddleboats, and Motorboats are available FREE at the boat rental building. Please limit your use to 30 minutes.

Drop off and pick up in front of the Beach House (where the restrooms are located). Enjoy a scenic ride around Comlara Park.

When should I arrive?
We recommend planning to arrive by 10:00 AM, giving plenty of time to park your vehicle, find a seat, and locate the bathrooms. If anyone in your family needs assistance walking from the parking lot to the main tent, golf carts are available to assist you. Just let the parking attendant know you need a ride!
What should I wear?
Casual outdoor summer clothing is best. Check the forecast! You may need a sweatshirt if the morning is chilly.
What should I bring?
Sunscreen, bug spray, and your favorite hat.
Can I bring my dog to the church picnic?
Although we love our furry friends, we ask that you leave your pets at home.

Friday & Saturday Night, September 11-12
Free Group Camping (Tents Only!) on Friday and Saturday night before the picnic.
Arrive anytime after 3:00 PM on Friday! Park amenities include playgrounds and trails as well as campfire and cookout locations throughout the park. Check-out extends through 3:00pm on Sunday, so once the picnic has ended you’ll have plenty of time to collect your items and cleanup.
Additional Camping Details –
- The Main Recreation Area (MRA) group site is reserved for East White Oak from Friday 3:00 PM through Sunday 3:00 PM. (This is at the north end of the parking lot where we park for the picnic)
- No individual check-in is needed to tent camp at the MRA group site on Friday or Saturday, September 11-12.
- Only tents are allowed in campsite area. There is no limit on the number of tents.
- No vehicles on grass. Please do not drive your vehicle on the grass to unload. All supplies must be carried in from the road.
- Campsite has 2 fire rings and approximately 10 picnic tables.
- Additional portable off the ground fire pits for more fires can be brought in.
- Grills can be brought in.
- Check-out of the campsite is 3:00pm Sunday and tents can stay up until that time.
- No RVs, pop-up campers, travel trailers, etc. If someone wants to camp in a camper they will have to reserve a site online through the park website.
- In addition to the beach house, water is conveniently located throughout the Main Recreation Area (MRA) modern campground. Hot showers and a sanitary dump station are also provided in modern areas. Firewood, ice, and fishing worms are only available during the regular business hours of the Visitor Center and MRA Campground Station. The campground is open year-round.
