One of the first verses I learned after accepting Christ was Galatians 2:20.

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

That verse has been a source of encouragement and challenge to let Christ be the Lord of my life instead of me trying to run it on my own strength or wisdom.

Another amazing thing is that since Jesus lives in me, I now have the promise that God the Father and God the Holy Spirit also live in me. The Bible talks about that in Ephesians 3:16-17, John 14:23, Luke 4:1,
2 Peter 1 for starters. So, we have all the blessings and resources we would ever need, and more because of Jesus living in us.

So, we are not living this life alone. Nor are we living this life with just our family, friends, or the people with whom we work and play. We are not living this life on our own power. We are living our lives fully through the power of the Holy, Living God of the universe who lives in each of us. Jesus lives in us permanently, promising us that He will never leave us or forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5) He goes with us wherever we go.

That is why our lives should show Christ to those we meet. They should see Him more than they see us. The more we are in the Word, the more we pray, the more we are with other believers, the more we become like Him, letting his life show in us. What a wonderful privilege!
