Neighboring During the Holidays
Making Disciples by way of neighboring doesn’t have to be one more thing to find time to do during a busy holiday season. Neighboring can fit into the natural rhythm of your life! Instead of being something extra to add, intentional neighboring is something to include in the activities you’re already doing such as time spent with your family, your Small Group, or your Bible Fellowship.
An outgoing and evangelistic response to A Season of Hope can be accomplished through our words and deeds. See Colossians 3:16-17 which says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Consider these two following Local Outreach opportunities this holiday season based off of Colossians 3:16-17!
HOW TO USE WORDS TO MAKE DISCIPLES
You can write cards to neighbors!
Gather around and write Holiday cards to 10-20 of your closest neighbors. Share with your neighbors your love for Jesus and the great opportunity we get to celebrate his birth this Christmas.
HOW TO USE DEEDS TO MAKE DISCIPLES
You can go caroling!
Gather around with your family or church group and plan an evening of caroling. See our Ultimate Guide to Caroling for a great list of Caroling Lyrics and event planning instructions.
